چکیده

BER analysis of Impulse Radio Ultra Wideband (IRUWB) pulse modulations over S-V channel model is proposed in this paper. The UWB pulse is Gaussian monocycle pulse modulated using Pulse Amplitude Modulation (PAM) and Pulse Position Modulation (PPM). The channel model is generated from a modified S-V model. Bit-error rate (BER) is measured over several of bit rates. The result shows that all modulation are appropriate for both LOS and NLOS channel, but PAM gives better performance in bit rates and SNR. Moreover, as standard of speed has been given for UWB, the communication is appropriate with high bit rates in LOS channel. Keywords—IR-UWB, S-V Channel Model, LOS NLOS, PAM, PPM

Performance Evaluation of MB-OFDM based UWB System

This paper investigates the Multi-band OFDM (MB-OFDM) based physical (PHY) layer proposal for IEEE 802.15.3a working group on short-range high data-rate Ultra-wide-Band (UWB) communications. An overview of the MB-OFDM PHY layer architecture with its various parameters is presented and the optimal choice of critical parameters is discussed. Next, we derive the theoretical un-coded Bit Error Rate...

Performance evaluation of OOK and BPSK modulation schemes for IR-UWB receiver using wide band LNA

Ultra wide band systems are considered as one of the most exciting technologies due to its capability of transmitting data over a wide frequency spectrum with very low power and high data rates. In any UWB receiver the low noise amplifier is the first stage. The LNA plays a crucial role in the whole reception chain. In this paper, we examine the performance of two different modulations techniqu...

Performance Evaluation of Time Hopping UWB Transmission Using S-Rake Receiver

In this paper, we address a performance evaluation of Time Hopping Ultra-Wideband (TH-UWB) transmission with proposed procedures, based on Pulse Position Modulation (PPM) and considering IEEE 802.15.3a Channel Models (CM1, CM2, CM3, CM4). Moreover, a Selective Rake (S-Rake) receiver is designed to counter the effects of multipath fading occurring in UWB channel Models. The TH-UWB signal detecti...

Time Domain Equalizer Design Using Bit Error Rate Minimization for UWB Systems

Ultra-wideband (UWB) communication systems occupy huge bandwidths with very low power spectral densities. This feature makes the UWB channels highly rich in resolvable multipaths. To exploit the temporal diversity, the receiver is commonly implemented through a Rake. The aim to capture enough signal energy to maintain an acceptable output signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) dictates a very complicated ...
